Yolanda R. Facciolo
Yolanda R (Marucci) Facciolo , 103, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 23, 1920 in Rome to Mathew and Filomena Campanaro Marucci. Yola married Joseph “Scud” Facciolo in St. John’s Church on October 13, 1945, a union which lasted until his passing in 2008.
Yola was a true patriot who embodied “God, Family, Country “ in that order. She was a loyal and conscientious worker her entire life. She started working at General Cable in the 1940’s, and went on to work at Rome Manufacturing where she made many lifetime friends and retired in 1984. She was an amazing cook and baker, but her greatest joys were taking care of her family, going shopping on Saturdays with her mother, margaritas and nachos on Friday nights with her daughter and getting together with her sisters and brothers.
Yola is survived by her son Joseph Facciolo, son-in-law David Salce, grandchildren Stacey and Erik Goding, Justin and Candyce Salce , Victoria and Joseph Facciolo and great-grandchildren Gabriel and Joshua Goding and Julian Salce. She is also survived by her sisters Faith Hitchings and Agatha DeBella as well as many nieces and nephews. Yola was preceded in death by her daughter Annette (Facciolo) Salce, brothers Louis and Matthew Marucci, and sisters Italia Pour, Mafalda Palombi, Flora Mikulin, Olga Bartolotti and Josephine Cecilia.
The family would like to thank Dee Gray of Nascentia Healthcare for the companionship, care and love she showed Yola for many years…so much so she called “Vee” her best friend. The family would also like to thank the staff at Bethany Gardens for their compassionate care of Yola. Their loving smiles, words of encouragement and gentle hugs made her transition (and ours) so much easier.
Yolanda Rose, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend and mentor who was happy to put everyone else before herself. She was one of a kind and will be forever in our hearts. Yola was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
