Victor W. Vaccaro

Victor W. “Vic” Vaccaro, 84, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in the Abraham House with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Rome on December 25, 1936 the son of Henry and Catherine Ross Vaccaro. On August 14, 1965 in St. John the Baptist Church he married his loving wife Janet Murphy Vaccaro who passed away on February 23, 2010. He was a graduate of RFA, class of 1955.

He was a therapist with Rome DDSO and retired after 30 years of service and was also a barber and owner of West Rome Barber Shop.

Vic was an avid horse man, an owner and trainer at Vernon Downs. Vic was a passionate Little League baseball coach. He enjoyed dancing and did a mean jitterbug.

Vic is survived by his beloved family, a daughter Lynn Vaccaro-Seoane of Rome; a son Victor W. Jr. and Kelly Vaccaro of Fayetteville; his cherished grandchildren, Mark Vaccaro, Zachary Wright, Sarah Vaccaro, Matthew Vaccaro and Jacob Vaccaro; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Patrica Murphy of Massachusetts; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Tito D.Seoane; three sisters, Grace (Vincent) Ciotti, Mary (Francis) Stys and Margaret Vaccaro; brother-in-law Eugene Murphy and sister-in-law Kathleen (James) Flaherty.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday July 7th at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Calling hours are Wednesday at 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

Contributions made be made in Vic’s memory to the Abraham House, 417 N. Washington St., Rome, NY 13440. Envelopes will be available at the church.
