Victor A. DiPerna, 93, of Chittenango and formerly of Utica and Rome, passed away peacefully
on January 9, 2026, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, Oneida, with his loving family at his side.Â
He was born on July 31, 1932, in Utica, the son of the late Frank and Anne Talarico DiPerna and
was graduate of Utica Free Academy. Victor married the former Annemarie Zachskorn on April 24, 1981, in Utica.
Victor learned the value of hard work at an early age, a trait which remained with him throughout his life. After classes at Utica Free Academy, he would ride his bike to the family business at Genesee Office Equipment to stock shelves and take
deliveries. This taught him the business from the bottom up specifically with office supplies and furniture.
He attended Syracuse University and Utica University graduating with a business degree in
marketing and business management at the original campus in Oneida Square, Utica. During this period, Victor became President of Alpha Kapp Omega Fraternity. While attending college, He would assist his mother at the family’s Rome location, Rome Office Supply everyday during the week following classes and on the weekends from sunrise to sunset with longer nights as well.
Upon graduation, Victor became affiliated with the family business full time working side by
side with his father, Frank. Frank would cover the Utica store, and Victor would cover the Rome
store while meeting with customers face to face in their respective territories which encompassed most of upstate. At the decision of his father, they expanded the family business by opening additional locations in Little Falls, Watertown, Ogdensberg and Teaneck, NJ. Also at this time,
Victor opened a Gallery of Art and Gift Studio specializing in imported decorative décor
including oil paintings, lamps, crystal accessories and along with variety of gift and travel accessories.
For over seventy-five years, Victor and his family being in the office and school industry were active in the National Office Products Association and National Office Machine Dealers Association. While working with the NOMDA, Victor became associated with the Olivetti Business Machines(calculators) and earned corporate awards to Belgium, Brussels, Italy, Denmark, Holland, Spain, Portugal, and Netherlands. His remarkable success led him to become an associated with Casio Business Machines where he excelled earning awards to Japan, Jamaica, and Italy.Â
Retiring from his business’ after fifty-four years, Victor became partner in the ownership of Dunkin stores, which were enjoyable and rewarding. After he sold his shares, Victor further his knowledge and became a realtor and an estate agent for the Greater Utica Rome Board of Realtors.
Victor was a Rome Rotarian Member of Rotary for over fifty-five years and served as Rotary
President from 1987-1988. He was a proud recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award for his outstanding work and presence as a Rotarian.
He is survived by his wife, Annemarie, his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James Milliman; his son and daughter-in-law, Chester and Donna Keville; grandchildren, Neil Stanhope, Anastasia Keville, Christina Keville, Katherine Keville and Christian Keville; great grandchildren, Nathan Stanhope, Madeline Stanhope, Nicole Stanhope, Ollianna Keville and Oliver Keville. Victor was predeceased by his son, Charles. Also cousins Gene Romano who predeceased him, Linda Romano and John Romano along with cousin Angela and Bob Del Bono.
Victor’s Funeral Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 15,
2026, at St. Peter’s Church of the Sacred Heart Parish, 200 N. James Street, Rome.
Entombment will be made in the family mausoleum at St. John’s Cemetery, Rome.Â
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 3 to 6 p.m., on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo Street, Rome. Contributions, in Victor’s memory, may be offered to Victor and his family have entrusted their care to Bottini Funeral Home
