Ronald J. Mulga, 77, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side.

Son of Samuel and Louise Scaccia Mulga, Ronald was born on October 18, 1947 in Rome. He attended Rome schools and was a graduate of mRome Free Academy. After graduation, he joined the Navy and was aboard the USS Harwood. After 2 years, he returned home and was employed at National Standards for 36 years as a machinist and tool/die maker. Following that, he was employed at Bartell’s and S.A.S. He was united in marriage to Linda Bravo on October 7, 1972, at St John the Baptist Church, a blessed union of 52 years. A devoted husband, Ronald was known for his work ethic and love for his family, especially his two nieces Marissa (Amuso) Bolivar and Marialana (Amuso) Barber.

Ronald found joy in simple pleasures and always found a way to keep himself busy. He enjoyed NASCAR and spending time outside working on his home. He loved being out by his pool or in his garage. Every evening he would meet up with his friends for coffee.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Linda; sister-in-law Kim(Dave)Bravo-Amuso, and Patty(David)Bravo , nieces Marissa (Branden) Bolivar and Marialana (Brandon) Barber, as well as his beloved cat Taffey. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Samuel Mulga, and sister Antoinette Bodway.

His family will forever cherish his memory and countless moments they shared together. He is also remembered fondly by his friends and all of those who were fortunate to know him. Ronald will be missed dearly by all who had the chance to know him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Rome and Syracuse VA and caregivers Alecia and Cindy for the professional care and support. Also a special thank you to Vinny Bravo and Dawn Hulser.

Funeral services will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Calling hours will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Burial will be in the spring at St. John’s Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
