Robert A. Dellork, 88, of Rome passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

He attended Rome schools and was a 1955 graduate of Rome Free Academy and held a master’s degree in education.

After serving his country in the US Marine Corp, he began a long teaching career in Southern California.  His love of teaching 6th grade was evident in the many plays and musicals his classes performed over the years, under his direction. Bob was a lifelong student of the Arts and a skilled pianist.  He never missed an opportunity to experience local, regional, and college theatre and musicals.

Bob returned to Rome after retirement, where he enjoyed gardening and honed his artistic skills painting oil on canvas. Mostly, he enjoyed golf, often playing during summer visits with his brothers.  His love of animals was evident in the many cats he rescued over the years. Bob was a kind, compassionate, and loving man who was always there for his family and friends. His dry, witty sense of humor and his piano playing made him the life of the party.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Amerigo and Grace Dorsino Dellork, and a brother Ronald Dellork.  He leaves behind a brother, Richard(Karen)Dellork, a daughter Christian Johnson and granddaughter Kirra Johnson, twin nieces Alissa Dellork and Erin(Mandy) Dellry.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. The family will receive guests at 11:30 prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, Bob would have loved any donations, in his name, to be made to the Rome Humane Society.
