Nicholas R. Bottini
Sadly, on Monday Feb. 8, 2021, Nick Bottini’s life of love, laughter and adventure ended at the age of 59.
There is no better way to say it but that Nick loved life and he loved people. There is no one who met Nick, with his warm, good-natured personality and infectious laugh, who within 5 minutes did not feel like they were a cherished friend. It did not matter if you were the bartender or a wealthy client, Nick valued you. He did not judge people, he enjoyed them. And this was a trait he inherited from his father, Nick, who also died far too young at age 47 years.
Nick loved that he grew up carefree and cared for in Rome NY, with his parents, Nick and Gayle Bottini, and partners in crimes and misdemeanors thru the 70s, his brother Kevin, along with his friends Vinny and Stemmy.
Nick loved his family, his daughters, Marissa and Julia, who gave him great joy and pride, his "adopted sons", Ryan and Kyle, his mother Gayle and his "adopted mother-in-law" Vivian, his brother Kevin and his family, Tina, Topher, Steve, Drew and Sarah. He was so thankful that he and Marissa got to share these past several years together in California.
Nick loved to travel – China, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Italy, Israel, Toronto, Vegas, Dallas, Key West, Puerto Rico, Philly, etc etc. He loved his work and was greatly admired and appreciated for his dedication and expertise as a CPA. Nick especially loved his social life, going to great restaurants or just hanging-out at the bar with friends. He loved golf and Angel's baseball games and Ducks hockey games. He loved music, from Elvis and Sinatra to the Allman Brothers and Chuck Mangione, but he especially loved the Grateful Dead. Nick was a veteran of many Dead shows, including one of the last shows just weeks before Jerry Garcia’s death, with brother Kevin.
Nick truly loved his life in California. Most of all, he loved that he could share it with the woman that he so loved, Deina. “Patio nights” brought his love of people and music together on those California nights.
Nick just loved life, and he lived it large and full. He made the lives of all who knew him richer and fuller too. Nick would want each of us to live as boldly and passionately as he did.
Because of the pandemic, and because Nick has family and friends spread across this country, services will be held virtually on Tues Feb. 16, at 2pm PST. (5pm EST). Nick's Memorial Service will remain on the website link for 90 days should anyone miss the live Service time, but still want to view it.
