Mary A. Spado
Mary A. Spado, 94, of Laurinburg, NC, previously of Rome, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 2022 with her loving family by her side.
Mary was born in Rome on May 2, 1927, a daughter of Cataldo and Angeline Cerillo Faroni. On September 17, 1949, she married Patsy A. Spado, a blessed union of 64 years until his passing on November 3, 2013. Mary was employed by the Rome City School District until her retirement.
Mary is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dan Redmond of Laurinburg, NC; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Anthony and Linda Spado of Rome and Patrick Spado of Hilton Head, SC; cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Nathan and Alison Redmond, Ryan Redmond and fiance Jocelyn Wheeler, AJ and Megan Spado, Christie and Mike Kerr; great-grandchildren Savannah and Benjamin Spado and Ethan and Liliana Kerr; sisters-in-law Bernie Faroni and Lucille Hilts. Mary was predeceased by her husband Patsy; sisters Kaye Summa, Frances Coluccio, Viola Mitchell, Lisa Faroni, and Ann Edel; three brothers, Cataldo, Alex(Cheech) and Marco Faroni.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be at the Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the St. John the Baptist Church Endowment Fund.
