Mary E. Gatley

   Mary E. (Szaraz) Gatley, 64, of Rome, passed away peacefully, on March 21, 2026, in Upstate University Medical Center, Syracuse, following a brief illness.

   Mary was born on September 4, 1961, in Syracuse, the daughter of late William and Connie Liberati Szaraz and was educated in area schools.

   She is survived by her children, Joseph Gatley; Katherine Gatley and Jason Semo; Tricia and Tucker Bushway; and Anna Loso and Jake Shula; her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Lori Szaraz. She is survived by her grandchildren, Nicholas, Julia, and Emma Semo for whom, she loved to travel to visit with them in California and go to the beach and survived by her three nieces.   Mary was predeceased by her parents, and her brother, Billy Szaraz. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

   In keeping with Mary’s wishes, the family will privately hold her funeral service and burial. There will be no public services.
