It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Beyett Kirk of Lee Center, who left us to be with the lord on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the age of 71 with her loving family by her side. Marlene was a beloved sister, aunt, and a cherished member of our community.
Marlene was born in Herkimer on May 25, 1953, daughter of the late Louis C. Christman Sr. and Maeona M Sheppard Christman. A resident of Rome for over 60 years, Marlene was known for her unyielding kindness, strength, and dedication to her loved ones. She was a loving and nurturing soul, a best friend, and a compassionate and wonderful listener in your time of need. Marlene had an incredible ability to bring joy to those around her, whether through their infectious laughter, heartwarming stories, or generous spirit.
Marlene was an assembler and inspector at ConMed in Rome for many years. She had many passions in life that she shared with all her family and friends such as shopping trips, crafting, and gardening. She frequently enjoyed sitting outside on her deck with a good cup of coffee, listening to the birds sing and the changing of the seasons.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband Robert Kirk of 2 years, stepson Bobby Kirk, stepdaughter Jessica Kirk, a sister Jannetta and husband John Avery, a brother Lawrence and wife Carol Hulbert; 2 sisters-in-law Loraine Coleman and Carol Hulbert; 3 brothers-in-law Allan King, James Farnam, and Harold Lynch; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many others she thought of as family who will forever hold her in their hearts and honor her legacy.
Marlene is predeceased by her former husband Steven H. Beyett; her parents Maeona and Louis Christman Sr.; sisters Patricia King, AnnaMae Lynch, and Barbara Schreiber; brothers Louis Christman Jr., and Addison Hulbert, and sister-in law-Betty Christman.
Calling hours will be held for on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 5:00pm at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. Family and friends are invited to attend and share their favorite memories and stories of Marlene. A memorial service to celebrate Marlene’s life will follow. Internment will be on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 11am at Mc Connellsville Cemetery, Camden NY.
Marlene, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing you. Rest in peace.
