Marcia A Plunkett
Marcia A Plunkett, 67, of Rome passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday April 21,2024 after a long battle with cancer.
   Marcia was born in Rome on August 18, 1956, the daughter of Shirley Domenico Peterpaul and the late Michael A. Peterpaul. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, Class of 1975. On January 31, 1987, Marcia married John A. Plunkett; a blessed union of 36 years until John's passing in January 2024. Marcia worked for Rome Hospital caring for the people of the area for 48 years retiring in January 2023, she then returned to work "per diem" until August 2023 due to illness. Her life was caring for her family.
  She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Erica and Christopher Thayer of Lee Center; a son Michael Plunkett of Rome; a daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Chris Akins of Utica; grandchildren Christian, Gabriella, Damien, Hunter, Morgan and Abel. She is also survived by her mother, Shirley Peterpaul of Lee Center; sister Brenda Heigl of Lee Center; sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Thomas Addison of Rome; brothers and sisters-in-law; Raymond and Linda Plunkett of Otter Lake; Robert (Scott) Meade of Rome; Suellen Meade and Neil Combs of NC; Patricia Meade of Rome, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews & dear friends. Marcia was predeceased by her husband and father, grandparents Marion and Bertha Domenico and Anthony and Lony Peterpaul as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
  The family would like to Thank Rome Health, RHCF for their care and compassion, and a special thank you to Stacey Balko Mayden & Tonya Anderson for their love, care & support on and off the clock.
     Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 3-6 pm at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. There will be a prayer service at 6 pm at the Funeral Home led by Father James Tormey.
