Lucy Fiaschetti
Lucy Fiaschetti, 79, of Rome, passed away on August 27, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side.
She was born on August 19, 1942 in Rome, the daughter of Luigi and Mary Renzi Mariani. On August 22, 1959 in St. John the Baptist Church she married Gregory Fiaschetti, Sr., a blessed union of 62 years and together for 64 years. She was a loving wife. Lucy wasn’t just a mother but a best friend to her family.
She was a graduate of RFA. She worked for many years as the service manager of Zayre’s Department Store.
Lucy is survived by her beloved family, her husband Gregory; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia (Gordon) Thompson of Rome; a son Gregory Jr. (Kris Hansen) Fiaschetti of Rome; a grandson Christopher Michael Thompson of Rome; two sisters, Josephine Maura and Angela Aurrichio and a brother and sister-in-law, Augustine (Donna) Mariani; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael (Gloria) Fiaschetti.
She was the world’s best Nonnie and was cherished by her grandson Christopher whom she loved and adored as much as he did her. They had a special bond that only grew stronger with the passing of time.
Lucy was an excellent cook who knew how to make everything; and once you tasted her food, you couldn’t leave the table. We are going to miss her ready smile and laughter and her special way of making even the biggest problems seem small. Thank you for being the best wife, mother and Nonnie anyone could ever ask for.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. If unvaccinated; please be respectful by wearing a Mask.
