Justin Patrick Goldberg
Justin Patrick Goldberg, 34, grandson of the late Patrick A. and Mary Peterpaul of Rome, passed away on February 10, 2023. He was born on June 7, 1988, in Edison, New Jersey, the son of Pamela Peterpaul, formerly of Rome, and Glen Goldberg. Justin spent many vacations with his family in Rome. Some of his favorite memories were puttering around the house and yard with his grandfather, eating multiple helpings of his grandmother’s ziti and lasagna, decorating Ukrainian Easter eggs, swimming in the pool, and enjoying annual family Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve celebrations. He was fortunate to have made many happy memories with his father’s family too, especially his Bubbe’s wit and cooking prowess and his Zayde’s baking and off-color jokes. Justin is survived by his parents, his aunt and uncle Claudia and Len Pfluger, his uncle Ted Novak, his cousins Dan and Ben Novak, with whom he shared many adventures over the years, and his extended Peterpaul and Goldberg families. Justin also leaves behind lifelong friends who were like brothers to him, Andrew Crowley, Ryan Crowley, and Steve Garcia, as well as friends he made around the world during his life and travels. In addition to his maternal grandparents, he was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Jack and Muriel Goldberg (Bubbe and Zayde), his aunt Beth Novak, and his faithful but troublesome dog Mitch. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo Street, Rome. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Please do not send flowers. Justin would have considered that frivolous. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Justin’s name to the charity of your choice.
