Joseph Perrone, 78, of Rome, passed away at home on Monday, September 1, 2025 with his loving wife and dogs by his side.

   Joe was born on November 22, 1946 in Bronx NY, the son of Charles and Theresa Mizzurco Perrone. He was a graduate of Hicksville High School. Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force in Viet Nam. On June 19, 2010 in the Town of Lee, he married the love of his life, Annemarie Blank, a blessed union of 15 years.

   Joe was a loving, devoted husband and father. He was a hardworking man who was the Veteran Service Agency Director for Oneida County. He was Commander of the Henry P. Smith Post #24, Vice Commander of the Oneida County American Legion Committee, member of the B-52 Mohawk Valley Museum, Rome Veteran’s Council, and a charter member of the Viet Nam Veterans of America Chapter #708. Those are just a few of the many organizations he was part of. Joe was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church.

   Joe is survived by his loving wife Annemarie, his daughter Renee (Jim) Hartnett, his sons Michael Perrone and Joseph Perrone, step-daughter Dr. Maryrose Blank (Theresa) Walton, and grandchildren Sophia and James Hartnett. He is also survived by his sisters Terry Hauser of CA, Dottie Focci, and Nancy Mosono; his brother Charles (Patty) Mazzurco, and his beloved canine companions Rocky and Socks Bauer who were always by his side.

   The family would like to thank Matt from Hospice and Palliative Care for his care and assistance during Joe’s final days.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11am at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick Street. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 prior to the mass. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo Street.
