John J Burnett Sr, 67 of Blossvale passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
He was born on August 8, 1957 in Gouverneur, and was the son of Harriet Martin. John graduated high school and had a love for fishing hunting and playing horseshoes. John was also a member of the Pine Grove Horseshoe Club. On July 18, 1987, John united in marriage to Terry L. Burnett. John and Terry share four children together. John loved all his children, grandchildren, and spending time with them.
John is survived by his loving wife Terry; children John J. (Jessica) Burnett Jr of Canastota, Michelle Burnett of Morrisville, Chris (Tanya) Burnett of Rome, and Jennie Burnett of Blossvale; eight grandchildren John Burnett III, Kylie Burnett, McKenzie Burnett, Kayssa Burnett, Aundra Burnett, Victoria Burnett, Brandon Chambers Jr, and Isabell Burnett; two great grandchildren Graycelyn Burnett and Remington Burnett. John also is survived by his brother Lee Martin and his sister Carol Martin. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
John will be greatly missed and loved by so many!
Services are private with no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
