James V. Masucci

August 10, 2021

James V. Masucci, 86, of Rome and Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away in Florida, at home on Tuesday, August 10. 2021.

He was born on March 15, 1935 in Rome, the son of Frank T. and Mary Mezza Masucci. James moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 2016. On June 26, 1954 he married Stella Wojdyla who passed away on January 28, 2004. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Rome. He had worked for the Pettibone Corporation as a crane operator and later for the Colonial Apartments.

James is survived by his beloved family, four sons, James F. (Brenda) Masucci of Port Charlotte, Robert (Pamela) Masucci of Port Charlotte, Michael (Michelle) Masucci of Alabama and Brian (Julie) Masucci of Brandon, FL; eight grandchildren, Jamie Barton, Jimmy Masucci, Bobby Masucci, Chris Masucci, Michael Masucci, Miranda Masucci, Brian Masucci and Alyssa Masucci; several great grandchildren.

Jim loved his time in Florida. He especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the highlight of his life.

Jim also had a passion for taking care of others. In his last months, while living in an Assisted Living Facility, he watched over people much older than him. The one thing he never stopped talking about was his golfing buddies and the owner, Mike, from Mohawk Glen. That’s the one thing he really missed.

Jim will always be remembered as the person who looked out for everyone he knew. He will be missed by many people.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Church with burial in St. John’s Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
