James V. DeSantis
James Vincent DeSantis, 78, passed away on December 18, 2021 in Iowa. He was born on October 21, 1943 in Rome, the son of Carl and Frances Bruno DeSantis.
James was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and received his Master’s Degree from UCLA. He taught for several years at Mohawk Valley Community College as a Marketing Professor before moving to Iowa. His interests included fine arts, opera, traveling the world and embracing his Italian culture. James loved visiting with his family and friends.
He is survived by his brother Paul DeSantis of Palm Springs CA; nieces, nephews, special cousins and friends. James is predeceased by his wife Katherine, his parents, and a brother William DeSantis.
A Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Paul Angelicchio as celebrant will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church on East Dominick St. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 West Embargo Street.
