James Parisi
James Parisi, Sr., 74, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in his home of 48 years after a brief illness.
He was born on August 8, 1946 in Rome the son of Charles and Mary Cremeno Parisi. On June 21, 1967 in St. John the Baptist Church he married Anna Marie Salvaggio, a blessed union of 53 years.
James proudly served with the US Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He was an Air Police Supervisor with the Air Force serving in Germany. He was a Shipping Supervisor at Rome Strip Steel for 25 years; ran Parisi’s Dugout for 7 years with his son Jimmy (his joy and passion) and then was a Security Supervisor at Turning Stone Casino for 12 years until his retirement. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and he truly catered to them. He was an avid hunter and had a camp in Sherburn with his brothers.
James is survived by his beloved family, his wife Anna Marie; a daughter Joanne Parisi-Haugen of Rome; cherished grandchildren, Marianna (Keven) Quintero of FL. and 2nd Lt. USAF Patrick Haugen of TX. And several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son James, Jr.; a sister Mary Calandra Root and brothers, Joseph Parisi and Anthony Paris.
A private service will be held Saturday morning at St. John’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
