Dianne L. (Yager) Stern
Dianne L. (Yager) Stern, age 70, of Blossvale, went to heaven to be with her husband Larry, and mother Kathleen on May 21, 2022, with her loving family by her side at the Abraham House of Rome.
She was born on January 21, 1952 in Rome to the late Kathleen Rocker and attended Rome schools. Dianne was married to the late John LaBarbera who passed in 1980. She married Larry Stern on February 14, 2006 and shared a blessed union until his passing in 2010. Dianne worked in various hospitals as a CNA, using her loving and caring compassion to help care for others.
Dianne enjoyed baking, knitting, sipping Corona by the pool, and trying her luck at gambling; however, the thing she loved the most was spending time with her family.
Dianne’s memory will live on through her children, Melissa LaBarbera and Fiancé Joe Graziano, John and Brenda LaBarbera, Anthony LaBarbera, and Rodney Yager; grandchildren, Rob, Jayda, Payton and Zac Andrews, Jazmyn and Jake, Alyssa, John, Aidan, Emma, Amanda, Kayla, Tiffany, and Ashlynn. She also leaves 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathy and her husband Howard Kotary; brothers, Delmer Lilly and William Yager; and niece and nephew Nikki Benton and Justin Kotary.
The family wishes to offer special thanks to Stan Bridgman and the staff at Rome Hospital, The Oneida Cancer Center, Valerie Yager, Hospice and Palliative Care, and the Abraham House of Rome for their caring support, and kindness shown to Dianne.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for immediate family only.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to either Hospice and Palliative Care, or the Abraham House of Rome.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo Street.
