Dawn Johnson DiCastro, 89, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Dawn was born in Depew on December 15, 1935, the daughter of Alfred and Mae Johnson. She attended schools in Buffalo and worked at Griffiss Air Force Base until her retirement. On August 9, 1956 Dawn was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” DiCastro, a blessed union of 52 years. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and her hobbies included traveling, going to the casino, and her weekly card games with friends. Dawn was a member of the Lions Club in past years, a member of the South Rome Senior Center, and was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church.
Dawn is survived by and will be sorely missed by her daughter Kimberly DiCastro, her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Lisa DiCastro; grandchildren Vinnie Marie Page and her partner Mike Parker, David Anthony Page and his partner Theresa Larsen; great-grandchildren David Michael Hrim and Dalton James Hrim; and several nieces and nephews. Dawn was predeceased by her parents and her husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 11am at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick Street.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo Street.
