Constance M. Passante Castro

October 24, 2023

Our beloved Constance (Connie) Marie Castro (Passante) has entered into the gates of Heaven on October 24, 2023 at the age of 87. Connie was a devout daughter, sister, wife, mother, and nana.

Connie was born to Kostyn and Mary Jenny Tyksinski in Rome, NY, on February 19, 1936. In 1953 she graduated from Rome Free Academy. On June 11, 1955 she married her husband Orrie Passante, a loving union of 38 years, raising five beautiful children together. Orrie passed away on September 10, 1993. On October 10, 1994, Connie married Armando Castro and celebrated 25 wonderful years of marriage. Armand passed away November 21, 2019.

Throughout her years she held many positions, from starting as a Switchboard Operator, to an Executive at Strandflex, Oriskany NY, travelling nationally. During the years, she spent many hours volunteering for hospice care. Connie felt honored to lead others into the transition to Heaven. She was a devoted Christian and loved to attend Mass. She had a solid strong faith in God.

She was an avid gardener, winning many awards for her yardwork. She loved her country and frequently volunteered with veterans.

Connie’s most valued role was that of a wife, mother and nana. She enjoyed making pasta on Sundays for family dinners, and making her famous salad dressing. Every child, grandchild and great grandchild always felt as though they were her favorite. Constance was truly a constant in every loved one’s life.

Connie is survived by her five children. Michelle (Tim) Kennedy, VT. Alana (Daryl) Tardugno, NC. Annette (Tom) Giardino, VT. Lisa (Bobby) Coleman, FL. Christopher (Susan) Passante, PA. and her brother, Marty (Maria) Tyksinski, WI. Connie has created a legacy to include 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her two husbands and three brothers, Eugene, Richard and Frederick Tylsinski. The family would like to express gratitude to Connie’s granddaughter and caregiver, Marla Knudsen and longtime friend Luigi Bottini.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
