Brian Charles Holtz

Brian Charles Holtz, 82 of Westernville passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 in the Presbyterian home, New Hartford . He was born on April 10, 1938 in Rome, New York the son of Charles and Florence (Stanley)Holtz.On April 11, 1957 he married Janet Grzesiak, a marriage of 18 years. In August 1974 he married Alice Cleveland, a marriage of 25 years. She passed away on December 25, 1999. Brian was a salesman for Rome Cable and Utica Cutlery.

He graduated from RFA and attended St. Lawrence University. He excelled in sports , especially baseball and was on the Smith Post American Legion state championship team in 1955. As a pitcher he was also drafted by the former New York Giants. He was very active in softball and golf leagues as well as enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Elks, American Legion as well as a member of SAL (Sons of American Legion). He was a past commander of the SAL.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Dr.James )Casper of Sauquoit,Denise( David)Chasse’ of Utah,daughter-in-law Carrie Holtz of Florida .His oldest daughter Debbie(Robert)Rasbach of Rome passed away four days after him. Also surviving are his grandchildren Nicole, Gabrielle, Ashley, Aaron, Carly, Julie, Katrina, Hunter and Regan; great-grandchildren Joseph and Lena Rae. He was predeceased by his best friend and son Brian ,and his sister Linda Niles.

Private burial services will be held in Mount Olivet cemetery Whitesboro. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
