Antonio L. Ovieda

   Antonio L. “Tony” Ovieda, 70, of Rome, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in the Rome Memorial Hospital with his loved ones at his side, following a long illness.

   He was born on June 14, 1956, in San Francisco, CA, the son of the late Anthony Ovieda. Tony was educated in California and proudly joined and served in the Unites States Air Force. He settled in Rome where he was a machinist for many years with Owl Wire Company, Rome. Tony shared a longtime companionship with Julie Cole.

   In his free time, he enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music and cheering with enthusiasm for the San Francisco 49ers.. Tony was also an avid fan of Nascar. He had an enormous love for his canine companion, Bella.

   Tony is survived by his companion, Julie; his children Desiree Jackson, Anthony and Danielle Ovieda and Tiffany and Simon Mills, all of Rome and several grandchildren. He also leaves his sister Lynda Ovieda of Missouri; his brother, Dave Ovieda of San Francisco, mother of his children Donna Jean Sammons Ovieda and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Visitation will be held, 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo Street, Rome. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation. Interment will be made privately at the convenience of the family.

   Tony’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home.
