Anthony M. Tardugno

August 19, 2022

Anthony M. Tardugno, 51, of Rome and Clearwater FL, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in St. Petersburg FL.

Anthony was born in Rome on February 2, 1971, the son of Michael Tardugno and Josephine Carrieri Polce. He attended Rome schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Anthony loved living in Clearwater FL, mostly due to the hot weather and outdoor activities. He liked skiing and traveling to the Rocky Mountains. He loved traveling with his mother and visiting his nieces and nephews in Michigan. He also enjoyed traveling back to Rome to visit family and friends. Anthony worked in the hospitality and customer service businesses, where he made Publix his home and all of his coworkers his family. Those who were lucky enough to have known Anthony will never forget his contagious smile. Anthony’s last act was to provide life-saving organs to those in desperate need, concluding his life in the same manner in which he lived; doing anything he could to make those around him smile.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Josephine Polce; his step-father Bob Polce; his sister Michelle and Jerome Eck of MI; his brother Frank Tardugno and Tammy Watson of Rome; his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephew. He is predeceased by his father Michael and his brother Lenny Tardugno.

Funeral services will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 12 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Calling hours will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
