Dominick “Duck” Ferrare

Dominick “Duck” Ferrare, 86, of Rome, passed away at home on July 8, 2020. He was born on August 25, 1933 in Rome the son of Anthony and Florence Mecca Ferrare.

He graduated from RFA and Utica College. He enrolled in the US Navy and proudly served from 1952 to 1956. He then taught for 30 years in the Boonville School System until his retirement.

Duck enjoyed playing pool at AJ’s Pool Hall. On weekends after teaching, he came back to Rome and could be found sitting on the end stool at the Savoy Restaurant enjoying a drink and smoking his “stogie” cigars. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Dom is survived by his nephews, nieces and cousins.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Private burial services will be held at St. John’s Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
