Anthony "Tokes" Ciccotti
Anthony L (Tokes) Ciccotti entered into eternal life on Saturday, May 16, 2020. Anthony was born on December 20 1929, the son of Enrico and Angeline DiMezza Ciccotti.
Tokes was educated in Rome City Schools and in 1946 he proudly enlisted in the US Army. For many years he was a member of the Local 50 Bricklayers and Masons Union. He also worked at GAFB and retired from the City of Rome. On June 29, 1956 he married the love of his life, Phyllis DeMario a Blessed Union of 58 years until her passing in 2015.
He is survived by his beloved family, daughters and son-in-law Michelle Corigliano, Mindy (David) Marino, Marisa Ciccotti; cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Corigliano, Matthew (Kim) Marino, Steven (Brandi)Corigliano, Alana (Adam) Nelson; ten great grandchildren, Emmalynn, Madelynn, Gracelynn, Madison, Emma, Taylor, Lydia, Brodie, Audrey, and Cecilia; sisters-in-law, Mary Ciccotti and Lucille Froio and many loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, his parents, daughter, Angeline, son-in-law, James Corigliano, and great granddaughter. Mya Jean Corigliano. Brothers and sister-in-laws Louis (Julia), Ascanio (Iva), Joseph (Terry), Orlando {Conse) sisters and brothers-in-law Louise (Joe) LaGatta and Sue (Lindy) Voci; mother and father-in-law John and Josephine DeMario; brothers and sisters-in-law Bernie Froio, Sam (Marge) DeMario, and a special niece who was like a daughter, Joelle LaGatta Colangelo.
Tokes’ many masonry masterpieces can be admired around the city; along with a few stogies. Tokes’ greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sunday dinners were a requirement and he always made sure Ma knew if the sauce wasn’t up to par. He loved sharing stories with his grandkids; especially about him and Zarelli. He would always tell them “I wish you grew up with me, you would’ve had so much fun finishing the conversation with ‘be careful and finish having a good day”. He also cherished the Friday night RFA football games with Louie Mac and his daylong car rides with his BFFJoe DeMatteo. He always came home with bags of rapini(rabe) or mushrooms for Ma to cook. He loved his Saturday night card games with best friends, Joe and Lenore DeBuvitz and cousins, John and Lois DiMezzo. He was loved by so many whom we’re sure have their own story to tell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date due to the recent COVID-19 virus. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery.
