John Michael Calicchia
John Michael Calicchia, 39, of Rome, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at home.
He was born on January 28, 1981 in Rome the son of John L. and Anne T. Calicchia. He was an inquisitive and thoughtful young lad, leading to an adulthood when he proudly joined the US Army, doing a tour in Iraq with his Infantry Unit; based in Europe earning awards for his strengths. After the Army he did local work.
John enjoyed cars, fitness, learning, and loving animals. He was a wonderful listener, loyal friend and was very good with fixing and making things.
He has returned to his folks who went before him, and Leo, a pet he brought in off the street and who later went missing, keeping his food and water bowl in their place for years later, in their memory. He picked great movies and will be so missed for conversations (what a loss).
He ended his last day with the Rosary after dinner. John leaves behind his beloved sister, Anne Marie and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.

Services were held Tuesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Verona, NY.. Interment in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at St. John the Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
Contributions in John’s Memory may be made to the Animal Shelter and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral Home.
