Antoinette “Toni” Belmont


Antoinette “Toni” Belmont, 78, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital.

She was born on December 11, 1940 in Rome the daughter of Peter and Rose Tarantino Belmont. She graduated from RFA and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse (RN) and had worked at Rose Hospital. She later was a supervisor for Oneida County Healthcare.

Toni was a volunteer for Prison Ministry; belonged to the Altar Rosary Society, was a Eucharistic Minister, Mass lector and a was a member of the Sister of Saint Joseph Associate. She was a recipient of the Bishop Costello Award and the Immaculata Award She was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church.

Toni is survived by a brother-in-law, Louis Tessier of PA; a niece, Amy (Tom) Rawlings of PA; a nephew, Matt (Dana) Tessier of PA; two great nephews, Nicholas Tessier and Nolan Rawlings; a very special canine friend, Nicky. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Sharon Tessier and nephew Peter Tessier.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Debbie Pinti and Stan Masztak for their care and compassion.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Robert Weber as celebrant. Private interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Friday, December 6 from 10-11 a.m. prior to the Mass.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
