Rose T. Magnanti

Rose T. Magnanti, 93, of Rome, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on January 10, 1926 in Rome the daughter of Luigi Angelo and Margaret Guggi Carletta. On October 18, 1947 in St. John the Baptist Church she married Ferdinando “Pops” Magnanti who passed away on April 9, 2019, a blessed marriage of 71 years.

Rose was a graduate of RFA, class of 1944. She was employed in cafeteria management for the Rome School District. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crafts and most of all cooking for her family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Rose is survived by her beloved family, two daughters, Rosemary Magnanti of CA. and Margaret (Dennis) Demers of Liverpool; two sons, Alfred (Deborah) Magnanti of Syracuse and Stephen Magnanti of Rome; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers Frank (Karen) Carletta of Rome and Harold (Ann) Miller of OH.; in-laws, Louis (Virginia) Magnanti, Antoinette Magnanti, Rita Magnanti and John Zimecki; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Destito, Angeline Patrick and Marge Zimecki; brothers, Gaetano Carletta and Daniel Carletta.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may greet the family from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the Mass.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
