Patrick J.(Sonny) Salerno,Jr.

Patrick J.(Sonny) Salerno, Jr., 95, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2019 in Bethany Gardens.

He was born on August 3, 1923 in Rome a son of Patrick J and Lillian Campanaro Salerno, Sr. In 1950 in St. John the Baptist Church he married Maryrose Giordani, a blessed union of 69 years.

He was a graduate of RFA. He proudly served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 during WW II. He owned and operated Salerno’s Service Station, a gas and oil business. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and being with his companions at DeMatteo’s Restaurant. He was a member of the Toccolana Club.

Patrick is survived by his beloved family, his wife MaryRose; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard E. (Wendy) Salerno of Pinehurst, NC and Patrick J. (Kathy) Salerno III of Baldwinsville; his cherished grandchildren, Lilli Salerno, Lauren Salerno, Lindsey Salerno, Patrick J. Salerno IV and Jenna Salerno; his great granddaughter Arden Salerno; a niece Patricia Morse and a nephew Robert Rossi. He was predeceased by a sister Alberta Rossi and a brother Richard Salerno.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
