Kenneth Woodhouse
Kenneth Woodhouse, 85, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2019.
He was born on January 10, 1934 in Rome the son of Thomas and Florence Woodhouse. On June 11, 1955 in St. John the Baptist Church he married his soul mate and love of his life, Frances Ann D’Alessio. She passed away on April 8, 2016. He was a graduate of Oriskany Schools. He worked at Revere Copper and Brass in the Box Shop until his retirement.
Kenny is survived by his beloved family, a daughter, Maureen Utter of Rome; two sons, Kenneth (Theresa) Woodhouse of N. Attleboro, MA and Eric (Debra) Woodhouse of Syracuse; cherished grandchildren, Derek (Stephanie) Utter, Andrea (Michael) Gilbert, Douglas Woodhouse, Joycelin (Chris) Vachon, Samantha Woodhouse, Ariel Woodhouse, Jennifer Woodhouse and Brian Woodhouse; great grandsons, Kade Gilbert and Derek Utter. Ken was predeceased by his brothers, Eric, Ronald, Clarence and Thomas. A lot of wonderful memories with Tom Utter and a very special friend Joe Uvanni.
Ken loved spending time in his barn tinkering with dune buggy’s, mini bikes, snowmobiles and wood working. Following retirement Ken and Fran enjoyed driving cross-country several times. Their most memorable vacation was at Disney with their children and grandchildren. Their greatest love was for their family and friends. They adored their grandchildren and spent endless hours with them. They attended events for all of them and thought nothing of traveling to do it.
Holidays were spent at their home. They were the “Heart of the Family”. We speak of Ken and Fran together because they were a unit. Without one the other was not complete. They are now together again.
The family would like to thank Terrace at the Woodland and the caring staff at Bethany Gardens who compassionately cared for him and his family at his last days of his life.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday, June 20th at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant.
In accordance with Ken’s request, there will be no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
