Joseph A. Pasqualetti

Joseph A. Pasqualetti, 88, of Rome, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital with his loving family by his side.

He was born on March 5, 1930 in Rome a son of Cristo and Maria Zeppieri Pasqualetti. On June 6, 1953 he married Josephine DiBerardino in St. John the Baptist Church; she passed away on January 26, 2012.

Joe was a graduate of RFA. He, along with his wife, were the owners and operators of the Roman Pastry Shop for over 30 years. He was considered one of the best cake makers and was an outstanding cake decorator. He taught at MVCC as a baking and pastry instructor. His donuts (fried cakes) were well known in Rome along with many of his other pastries especially during Christmas, Easter and St. Joseph’s Day. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and was well known for his volunteer work making many great dinners for the Church’s fund raising events.

Joe lived his life for his family. He cherished his grandchildren and great grandchildren and every moment he spent with them. He is survived by his beloved family, two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Joseph Manna and Celeste and Stephen Uvanni; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Anna Maria (Mellace) Pasqualetti and John and Gina (Rossi) Pasqualetti all of Rome; 19 cherished grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; a sister Lita (Pasqualetti) Hale of Rome; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Carmella DiBerardino and Angelina (Peewee) Bello; two brothers, Jerry Pasqualetti and August Pasqualetti.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2nd, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, March 1st, from 4 to 7 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
