Anna M. Daniello Thomas


Anna M. Daniello Thomas, 90, of Rome, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 in Bethany Gardens with her loving family by her side.

She was born on February 17, 1929 in Mildred, PA, a daughter of Nicholas and Frances Piccola Daniello, Sr. She was a graduate of Rome Schools.

Anna had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for DDSO until her retirement. She loved her family and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren, She also enjoyed reading, cooking, baking and doing ceramics. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Anna is survived by her beloved family, three sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Catherine Thomas of Lee Center, Brian and Carrie Thomas of New Hartford, Todd and Mary Jo Thomas of Westmoreland; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Thomas Grooms of KS; cherished grandchildren, Mandy (Nick)Sandt, Kacey Grooms, Ryan (Dija) Thomas, Colin Thomas, Erin Thomas, Alison Thomas, Amanda Thomas, David Thomas, Felicia Thomas, Trinity Thomas; great grandchildren, Logan Thomas, Cole and Zachery Sandt; sisters, Lucy Gleba, Virginia Spina, Sarah Ramsay, Joanna Daniello and Linda (Richard) Marocchi; a brother, Francis (Virginia Campanaro) Daniello; sisters-in-law, Nina Daniello and Patricia Daniello and an uncle Vincent Picolla. She was predeceased by sisters, Rose (Foster “Mac”) Spadafora and Margaret “Peggy” Daniello; brothers, Peter (Jenny) Daniello, Louis Daniello, Nicholas Daniello, Jr., and Geno Daniello; sister-in-law Donna Daniello, brother-in-law Ron Gleba and an aunt Lucy Picolla.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the 5th floor of Bethany Gardens for their care and compassion of Anna.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, February 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in Rome Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, February 26th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Anna’s memory to the Rome Jervis Library
