Ferdinando A. “Fred” Pacicca, Jr.


Ferdinando A. “Fred” Pacicca, Jr., 85, of Rome, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 in the Rome Memorial Hospital.

He was born on February 13, 1933 in Rome a son of Ferdinando and Maria Voci Pacicca. On April 24, 1954 in St. John the Baptist Church he married Lucille Aquino, a blessed union of 63 years. He attended Rome Free Academy. Fred proudly served with the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953.

He had worked as a Therapist at the Marcy Psychiatric Facility. He totally enjoyed gardening growing many vegetables. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church.

Fred is survived by his beloved family, his wife Lucille; daughters, Rosemary (Fred) Boehlert, Deborah Pacicca and partner John and Lisa Pacicca; a son, Fred Pacicca and partner Cary; cherished grandchildren, Mandy, Melissa, Ashley, Anthony and Michael; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Eli, Cooper, Nicholas and Maya; sisters-in-law, Carmella Pacicca and Grace Pacicca. He was predeceased by his brothers, Carmen, Anthony and Frank Pacicca.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the entire staff on 2 East of the Rome Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Philip Hearn as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in the spring.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the church after the Mass.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions in Fred’s memory to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the church.
