Mary (Bravo) Capoccia
Mary (Bravo) Capoccia, 97 of Rome, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
She was born in Rome on April 6, 1921 a daughter of Dominick and Concetta Feole Bravo. On November 21, 1940 in St. John the Baptist Church she married Eugene “Jay” Capoccia who passed away on January 11, 1990. She attended Rome Schools and later worked as a seamstress for Joseph & Feiss Co. until her retirement.
She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, interior decorating and most of all playing cards and going out with her “club” girls. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by her beloved family, a daughter, Cindy (Daryl) Hart of Austin, TX; sons, Andrew (Carol) Capoccia of Saratoga, Eugene Capoccia of Vancouver, WA, and Gary (Judy) Capoccia of Rome; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a sister, Virginia Ferlo of Raleigh, NC; several nieces and nephews along with a special niece Kim Bravo Amuso and special friend, Rosalie Mikus. She was predeceased by five brothers, and three sisters.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Margo and Mike Dawidowicz.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday, December 7th at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Entombment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to the Rome Rescue Mission.
