Joseph V. Uvanni
Joseph V. Uvanni, 78, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 24, 2018 with his loving family by his side.
He was born on June 25, 1940 in Rome the son of Stephen and Ann Summa Uvanni. On October 3, 1959 in St. John the Baptist Church he married Mary Ann Raulli, a blessed union of 59 years.
Joe was a graduate of RFA, class of 1958. He was a Lieutenant of the Rome Fire Department retiring in 1986. He and his wife then became the owners and operators of the Automatic Vending Co.. He belonged to the Retired Police and Fireman Benevolent Association. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Joe is survived by his beloved family, his wife Mary Ann; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann and Kenneth F. Weber of Rome; cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Nicholas and Lauren Weber of Rome and Annmarie and Travis Bator of Yorkville; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Robert Campanaro of Rome; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Donna Raulli of Ava; and special friends Dale and Gloria Schultz.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday at 12 noon at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 11 to 12 prior to the Mass.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joseph’s memory to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Rome Memorial Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
