John J. Patane

John J. Patane, 72, of 1911 N. James St. passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2018 with his loving family by his side.

He was born on May 29, 1946 in Rome the son of John S. and Angeline Vaccaro Patane. He attended Rome Schools. He was the Administrative Assistant at Job Connections.

John loved watching the Yankees, listening to country music, working the vegetable garden and playing pool with his friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid traveler and bowled and golfed for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Ukrainian Club and enjoyed his Saturdays there with his many friends. He was the flag bearer for the various parades they participated in. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

John is survived by his beloved family, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Jeff Austin and Kathy and Greg Vitkowski; a brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Maryanne Patane and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to his DDSO family for their special care and compassion.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 in St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Abe Esper officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Wednesday from 10-11 prior to the Mass.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
