Louis F. Tork

Louis Frederick Tork, 88, of Lee Center, passed away on June 4, 2018 in the Rome Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 5, 1930 in Syracuse the son of Louis and Lillian Ryder Tork. On August 28, 1948 he married Peggy McElhannon in Syracuse, a blessed union of 48 years.
Louis attended school in Syracuse. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He had worked for Syracuse Foundries and later with his brother George for Tork Concrete and continued the business after the passing of his brother. He was a very hard worker and still poured concrete in his 70’s. He was an avid swimmer, getting many ribbons and awards for swimming.
Louis is survived by his beloved family, a son Louis Frederick, Jr. and Brenda Rancier Tork of Canastota; a daughter Bridget Tork Emert and Steve Prosser of Lee Center; a sister Margaret of Texas; six cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, LuAnn, Daniel, Steven, Moon and Tiffany; five great grandchildren, Felicia, Mia, Will, Sunny and Ophelia. He was predeceased by his wife Peggy; father and mother Louis and Lillian; sisters, Marilyn, Frances and Rose and brothers, George and John.
There will be no calling hours.
There will be private services for the family.
