Salvatore J. “Sal” Frank
Salvatore J. “Sal” Frank, 92, of Rome, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Rome Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born on February 12, 1925 in Rome the son of Antonio and Antoinette Franco. On April 12, 1947 in St. John the Baptist Church he married Norma Cingranelli, a blessed union of 70 years.
Sal attended Rome Schools. He proudly served in the US Army during World War II. He retired after working as a packaging specialist at GAFB. He enjoyed fishing, walking, gardening and watching football on TV. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Sal is survived by his beloved family, his wife Norma, a daughter, Marilyn Salerno of Nashville, TN; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Salvatore and Beth Frank of Tarpon Springs, FL, Mark and Tempe Frank of Clearwater Beach, FL, and Rodney Frank of Rome; cherished 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Anthony Frank of Utica and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St with the Rev. Abe Esper officiating.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 to12:00 prior to the service.
