Vincent Joseph Sonsini

Vincent Joseph Sonsini, 79, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in the Rome Memorial Hospital

He was born on February 13, 1938 in Rome, the son of Frank P. and Vera Prester Sonsini. On February 6, 1970 he married Marie Zullo, a blessed union of 47 years. He was a graduate of RFA, class of 1955. He was a proud member of the US Marine Corp. He was a machinist at Revere Copper & Brass, Inc. for 45 years retiring in February 2000.

Vinny enjoyed golfing, fishing and doing carpentry work. He was a member of the Toccolana Club. He also played golf in the Revere Monday Night Golf League and the Seniors Golf League at the Mohawk Glen Golf Club.

Vinny is survived by his beloved family, his wife Marie; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill Anne and Matt Schuman of PA; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Jeannette Hiscock of Albany; cherished grandchildren, Kristen (Kenny) Lawrence, Jared (Michelle) Darlian, Andrew Ferguson, Jonathan Christiansen, Loreal Hiscock, Lesley Schuman, Andrew Schuman and Troy Young; three great grandchildren, Eden, Bella and Emma Lawrence; a sister, Jeanine Sonsini of Rome; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Betty Zullo of Rome; a special travelling companion Evelyn “Petie” Costello and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday, September 28th, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 12:00 to 1:00 at the Church prior to the Mass.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
