William H. Frankey

William H. Frankey, 79, of Rome, passed away on Monday May 15, 2017 in Upstate University Hospital., Syracuse.

He was born on March 29, 1938 in Rome a son of Howard and Martha Halpin Frankey. In Rome, he married Sally Ann Mahoney, who passed away on May 16, 2012.

He attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and was a graduate of RFA. He proudly served with the US Navy as a Seabee from 1956 to 1960. Bill worked as a machinist at Rome Cable Corp. and later for the City of Rome Parking Authority. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Bill is survived by his beloved family, a daughter, Margaret Elerick,of NC; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Elerick, FL, Christopher Elerick, of Rome, and Robert and Paula Elerick of Verona; three cherished grandchildren, Erin, John, and Colton Elerick; three sisters and a brother-in-law; Carolyn and Robert Stauffer, PA, Barbara Weathers, OR, and Patricia Sterling of Point Rock. He was predeceased by a brother, John Frankey and a brother-in-law, Gilbert Sterling; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are private. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
