Gerald Richard (Jerry) Kelly

Gerald Richard (Jerry) Kelly, 72, of Rome, passed away at home on Saturday, October 15, 2016 with his loving family by his side.

He was born on September 17, 1944 in Indiana, PA, the son of Clarence and Martha Kinter Kelly. On September 28, 1965 in Rome he married Gertrude Davis, a marriage of 51 years. He was a graduate of Latrobe Senior High School in Latrobe, PA. He proudly served with the US Air Force.

Jerry retired in 2000 after working for 28 years for the City of Rome Water Dept. He later worked as a Sous Chef at the Turing Stone Casino. He enjoyed meeting with friends, listening to country radio, cooking and playing horseshoes.

Jerry is survived by his beloved family, his wife Gertrude; a daughter and son-in-law Jowell and Robert Raymond of Martinsburg, VA.; sons, Shawn Kelly, Gary Kelly (Michelle Wooten), Terry Kelly (Gina Drake) and Douglas Kelly all of Rome; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great- grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Bonnie Kelly of VA. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Charmain Marsh and Jeannine Bucco and a brother Alan Kelly.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. with Pastor Steve James officiating. Interment will be in Rathbunville Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
