Marina E. Gualandi
Marina Gualandi, 73, of Rome, peacefully entered the gates of heaven on August 23, 2016, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on January 22, 1943 in Rome the daughter of Anthony F. and Lillian Emma LaGreco. On August 25, 1962 in St. John the Baptist Church she married John P. Gualandi, a blessed union of 54 years.
She graduated RFA in 1961. She had worked for Zayre's, Grandway, and Ames department stores. She retired after many years from the Turning Stone Casino.
She enjoyed going to the Casino to see a show, and especially playing the slot machines and Bingo. Her family was always the center of her life and happiness. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. Marina was that person who would give you her last dollar if needed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma and friend. We all will miss her deeply, but she will live within our hearts and memories forever.
Marina is survived by her beloved family, her husband John; three sons and a daughter-in-law, John A. Gualandi, Jeffrey P. and Pamela Gualandi and Joel S. Gualandi; cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Jr., Anthony, Antonio, Justina, Janelle and Joel Jr; a sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Dennis Surace and a special niece Michele Surace Weissenberger all of Rome. She was predeceased by her parents.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the entire staff of 2 east and RHCF of Rome Hospital and to Dr. Richard Cherny and staff.
