Anthony G. Calenzo
Anthony G. Calenzo, 52, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 8, 2016 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
He was born on July 21, 1963 in Utica the son of John L. and M. Pauline Sercer Calenzo. On September 5, 1997 in St. Mary's Church, New York Mills, he married Michelle Feole, a blessed union of 18 years.
Tony was a graduate of Proctor High School in Utica, the class of 1981. He served as an outstanding member of the Oneida County Sheriffs Department as a Deputy Sheriff for the past 29 years serving the citizens of Oneida County.
During his leisure time he enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Team and the Utica Comets Hockey Team.
Tony is survived by his most beloved family, his wife Michelle; cherished daughters, Alexandria and Madison Calenzo, both at home, He lived for his daughters and they were his whole world. He is also survived by his father, John; a sister and brother-in-law, Paulina and Danny Macko of Baldwinsville; a brother John A. Calenzo of Westmoreland; several nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles, and a special mother-in-law Joan Feole. He was predeceased by his mother M. Pauline Calenzo.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Rome Police Dept., Sheriff's Dept., Amcare, and the staff of St. Elizabeth's Hospital for their caring and compassion of Anthony.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 9-11:00 at the Church prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Anthony's memory to the Oneida County PBA, P.O. Box 376, Westmoreland, NY 13490.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
