Frances Ann Woodhouse

Frances Ann Woodhouse, 79, of Rome, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 in St. Luke's Hospital with her loving family by her side.

She was born on December 12, 1936 in Rome, a daughter of Frank and Ida Spadafora D'Alessio. On June 11, 1955, in St. John the Baptist Church, she married Kenneth Woodhouse, a blessed union of 60 years.

Frances worked as a telephone operator for the New York Telephone Company (now Verizon) retiring on December 30, 1991. She was a graduate of RFA in 1954. She enjoyed scrap booking, crocheting and cooking for her family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Frances is survived by her beloved family, her husband Kenneth; a daughter Maureen Utter of Rome; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Theresa Woodhouse of N. Attleboro, MA and Eric and Debra Woodhouse of Syracuse; cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Derek and Stephanie Utter, Michael and Andrea Gilbert, Douglas Woodhouse, Joycelin Woodhouse, Samantha Woodhouse, Ariel Woodhouse, Jennifer Woodhouse and Brian Woodhouse; great-grandson Kade Gilbert; sister-in-law, Lisa D'Alessio; brother-in-law Dominick Frank and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Caroline Frank and a brother Joseph D'Alessio.

Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who always put others first. Her family was her universe and she was the center. To know her was to love her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the ER and ICU units, especially Zhanna, Hope and Brianna of St. Luke's Hospital for the care, compassion and affection shown to Frances during her stay.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant; where relatives and friends are invited to attend.

In accordance with Frances's request, there will be no calling hours.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Frances's memory to Make A Wish Foundation, Central New York, 5005 Campuswood Drive, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
