Raffeala M. Bottini


Raffeala "Ray" Bottini, 80, of Rome, passed away at home on Friday, February 19, 2016.

She was born on May 28, 1935 in Giovanazza, Bari Italy, the daughter of Pasquale "Patsy" and Madeline DeVivo Misurelli. On June 18, 1955 she married Luigi J. Bottini, a blessed union of 60 years.

She was a graduate of Teaneck High School, Teaneck, NJ and Cosmetology School.

She worked at the Smart Set Beauty Salon in Leonia, NJ and later in Rome for the Lovely Lady Beauty Salon. Ray was a co-owner of the Bottini Funeral Home as it's financial officer and hair stylist.

Ray dearly enjoyed her family which included her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren by whom she will be dearly missed. She also enjoyed her summers at her cottage in Sylvan Beach and all of her beach neighbors.

"Ray", as she was well known, is survived by her beloved family, her husband Luigi, a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Matthew Brement; a son Michael A. Bottini and his dear friend Marie Lynn Rossi; cherished, three grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Tammy Brement, Adam and Dina Brement and Michael and Haley Bottini; three great grandchildren, Emily "Miss Em" Brement, Kyle Brement and Christopher Luigi Brement all of Rome; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Kathy Misurelli of Syracuse and Anthony and Bonnie Misurelli of New Jersey; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph P. and Mary L. Bottini and Gayle Bottini. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Agatha and Charles Scudeni, Nicholas J. Bottini and Mary F. Bottini.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the care, compassion and affection shown to Ray, to Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Lisa, Ann, Melissa and Jennifer and to Matthew Brement and Marie Lynn Rossi for their loving care during her time of need.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Due to the inclement weather, calling hours for relatives and friends will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Church prior to the Mass.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

Please omit flowers; contributions in Ray's memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund or to Hospice & Palliative Care. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
