​Helen M. Anania


Helen M. Anania, 95, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2016.

She was born on September 15, 1920 in Rome a daughter of Henry and Martha Campanaro Frasca. On April 23, 1946 in St. John the Baptist Church she married Edward Anania who passed away on June 30, 1982.

She attended RFA and had worked for the former Spargo Wire Company and later retired from the former Oneida County Hospital. She enjoyed reading, playing with her grandchildren and attending the Casino. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Helen is survived by her beloved family, a son and daughter-in-law, Edward J. and Elisena Anania of KY; cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Edward A. Anania, Elizabeth M. and Chris Hornsby, Wesley A. and Julie Anania, Jenny E. and Drew Roberts; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kaitlyn, Tristen and Alyson Hornsby, Ethan and Elisena Anania and Grayson and Olivia Roberts; a sister Kathleen "Kay" Frasca of Rome; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Frank Frasca of Rome and Ernest and Marie Frasca of Rome; three sisters-in-law, Ann Frasca, Susan Frasca and Patricia Frasca; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by six brothers, Charles, Lucas, Ricky, Joe, Al and James Frasca.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Helen and Eddie's memory to the Rome Baseball Club at Franklyn Field. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
