Dominick A. Ferrare


Dominick A. Ferrare, 90, of Rome, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, December 10, 2015.

He was born on September 10, 1925 in Rome a son of James Sr. and Filomena Pinti Ferrare. On May 21, 1955 in St. John the Baptist Church he married Carmella L. Fiordiliso who passed away on September 26, 1999. It was a blessed union of 44 years. He attended Rome Schools.

He was a member of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices Union for 64 years working as a plumber and pipe fitter. He enjoyed going to softball games at Wright Hazelton Park, across the street from his house, as well as his granddaughter's field hockey and softball games. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball games.

Dominick is survived by his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Steven Wickham of Camden; his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn and her husband AJ Reber of Camden, Lacey Reed of Camden and Gabrielle Ferrare of Rome; a daughter-in-law Lori Ferrare; a sister-in-law Rose Ferrare; in-laws Nicolena Touten, Jeanette and Sam Sgroi, Antoinette "Ann" Crescenzi and George Fiordiliso, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son Robert Ferrare; a sister and brother-in-law, Grace and John Schillner a brother, James Ferrare, Jr. and a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Dolores Ferrare.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care of Dominick. A special thank you to Robin Eldridge, a long time friend of the family, for her care and support.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Monday afternoon at 1:00 at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday evening from 4 to 6 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions in Dominick's memory to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
