Anthony J. Magnanti

Anthony J. "Motors" Magnanti, 88, of Rome and Cocoa Beach, FL passed away of Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in Florida.

He was born on May 23, 1927 in Rome a son of Luigi and Elvira (Viti) Magnanti. He proudly served with the US Navy during WW II. He was retired from Griffiss Air Force Base. Tony enjoyed golfing, fishing, was a horse racing enthusiast and was an outstanding poker and pinochle player.

Tony is survived by his beloved family, his wife Joan Denny, her children, John (Gayle) Denny, Jodi (Richard) Armstrong and Dr. Jeff (Susan) Denny; brothers and sisters-in-law, August and Antoinette Magnanti, Alfred and Rose Magnanti and Louis and Virginia Magnanti; a sister, Helen Vittorello; a sister-in-law, Rita Magnanti and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Marie Magnanti; sisters and brothers-in-law, Yolanda and Philip Gregory, Mary and Francis McGowen; a brother Philip Magnanti and a brother-in-law, Albert Vittorello.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 in St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

Contributions may be made in Tony's memory to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
