Margaret Colasanti


Margaretta (Margaret) Colasanti, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in the Rome Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Canastota the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Lombrazo. On September 24, 1945 in St. Agatha's Church, Canastota, she married the love of her life Anthony Colasanti, a blessed union of 69 years. She was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base, retiring in 1980 with 25 years of service.

Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and caring grandmother. Her marvelous cooking and baking skills were enjoyed by all. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens and just enjoyed her life, home and family. She leaves all with wonderful memories to cherish.

Margaret is survived by her beloved family, her husband Tony; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Donald Page and Elizabeth and James Sgroi, both of Rome; four cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Renee (Glenn) Widor, Marc (Nicole) Page, both of Rochester, Ryan (Megan) Sgroi, Albany and David (Trista) Sgroi, Utica; six great-grandchildren, Jack, Luke and Stephen Widor, Eliza and Kylie Page and baby Evan Sgroi; one sister-in-law, Dominica Vancourt and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Anna Rinaldo, Canastota.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11:00 in St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

Contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
