Anthony D. Crescenzi
Anthony D. Crescenzi, 82, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015, with his loving family by his side.
Anthony was born in Rome on August 7, 1932, the son of Anthony and Jennie Peterpaul Crescenzi. On September 14, 1957, in St. John the Baptist Church, he married Antoinette "Ann" Fiordiliso, a happy and loving union of 57 years. He graduated from Rome Free Academy with the class of 1951. Tony enlisted in the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Upon honorable discharge he was employed at Griffiss AFB as a management analyst retiring from the Air Force Communications Command Division (CCD). He received many awards and certificates including the AFCC Cost and Management Analysis Civilian of the year award in 1980 and 1982.
Tony was a loving and devoted husband and father, a proud and caring grandfather and a friend to all. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, crossword puzzles and wintering in Las Vegas with his family. He was a lover of fine music. He was a former member of the Lions and Elks Club and a current member of the National Association for Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) and AARP.
Tony is survived by his beloved family, his wife Ann; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Timothy Mulrenan of Needham, MA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Anthony and Ann Marie Crescenzi of Cicero and George Crescenzi of Las Vegas, NV; cherished grandchildren, Paul Crescenzi, Kimberly (Jim) Manzare, Kirsten Mulrenan and Patrick Mulrenan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nicholena Touten, Jeanette (Sam) Sgroi, George Fiordiliso and Dominick Ferrare and special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Todora, Olga and Dick Blake, Sue and Joe Romano and Ann and Richard Guaspari; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rosina and Everett McGarry, Carmella Ferrare and nephew Robert Ferrare.
The family would like to thank Dr. Potluri, Dr. Seedat, the nurses and staff of 2N, ER and ICU at Rome Memorial Hospital for their compassionate and loving care which they provided for Tony and his family.
Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 11:00 in St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
The family will receive family and friends at the Church from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass.
Contributions may be made in Tony's name to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
